Who is De Lindenhoeve?
De Lindenhoeve has been a household name in Sluis for over 50 years. For generations, we have been welcoming guests for a delicious lunch, an extensive dinner or a pleasant end to a day out in the liveliest town in West Zeeland Flanders.
Our restaurant is renowned for its warm atmosphere, hospitality and carefully prepared dishes. We do not offer standard menus, but rather a menu full of creativity, craftsmanship and fresh products. We combine classic influences (including French cuisine) with local products and contemporary inspiration.

What are you going to do?
As head chef, you are the driving force behind the kitchen. You ensure that processes run smoothly, your team works well together and quality is always high. You are not only an organiser and coach, but also someone who gets involved and inspires others.
In concrete terms, this means that you:
- manages, supervises and motivates the kitchen team;
- are responsible for developing new dishes and menus;
- operates in accordance with HACCP guidelines and monitors compliance with them;
- takes care of purchasing and stock management;
- draws up schedules and organises the kitchen efficiently;
- trains and encourages pupils and colleagues in their development;
- assists during busy periods;
- ensures perfect mise en place and optimal preparation every day.
You ensure that everything in the kitchen runs smoothly, so that our guests leave surprised and satisfied time and time again.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a head chef with a passion for the profession and the ambition to further put our restaurant on the culinary map. You have an eye for detail, are creative and can switch easily between managing and working alongside others.
We also ask:
- a chef’s diploma (experience with classic French cuisine is an advantage);
- at least 10 years of experience as a cook and preferably experience as a head chef;
- leadership qualities and enthusiasm to help a team grow;
- knowledge of HACCP regulations;
- a flexible, stress-resistant and goal-oriented work attitude;
- an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude, with a passion for the profession and the region.
